Education Council
The purpose of the Education Council is to provide a forum and to identify issues as related to the education of
psychiatric-mental health nurses, specifically to the Advanced Practice Nurse. Two major projects developed and coordinated by the Education Council are the Integrated Practice Guidelines as part
of the Primary Mental Health Project and the Pre-Conference Workshop at the 2000 ISPN Conference.
The Integrated Practice Guidelines Project is a collaborative effort
with the Center for Mental Health Services at the National Institute of Health and with the assistance and guidance of Ronald Manderscheid, PhD, Chief Survey and Analysis Branch Division of State and
Community Systems Development. Two Expert Panels, one on Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD Panel), and one on Family Violence have been convened.
