About ISPN

The Mission of ISPN

The mission of the International Society of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses (ISPN) is to unite and strengthen the presence and the voice of specialty psychiatric-mental health nursing while influencing health care policy to promote equitable, evidence-based and effective treatment and care for individuals, families and communities.

ISPN Purpose

The purposes of the International Society of Psychiatric- Mental Health Nurses are to:

  • Unite and strengthen the presence and voice of specialty psychiatric-mental health nurses;
     
  • Promote equitable quality care for individuals and families with mental health problems;
     
  • Enhance the ability of psychiatric-mental health nurses to work collaboratively on major issues facing the nursing profession;
     
  • Provide expanded opportunities for networking and leadership development;
     
  • Impact healthcare policy to facilitate more effective use of available human and financial resources.

The ISPN Awards provide an opportunity for the association to formally recognize some of the many outstanding contributions of psychiatric-mental health nurses throughout the world.
