Adolescent Substance Use: Details Psychiatric Nurses Need to Know

Summary: Though most (69%) adolescents have never used alcohol or other drugs (AODs), a significant percentage do use, and substance use co-occurrence with psychiatric disorders is very high. Most psychiatric nurses lack the knowledge needed to have effective conversations with youth who use AODs.
