ISPN Global Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing: Community-Based Research Grant

Purpose:

To support psychiatric mental health nursing research (This year’s specific focus is on maternal and infant mental health research conducted outside of the United States of America). Qualitative and/or quantitative proposals, and proposals for pilot research, may be submitted for this grant. ISPN does not allow for indirect costs.

This award is for $3,000.

Eligibility:
Applicant must:
  1. Currently work in the field of psychiatric-mental health nursing.
  2. Hold a minimum a licensed registered nurse or international equivalent.
  3. Current ISPN member.

Application Requirements:

  1. Registered nurse or registered mental health nurse with a current license outside of the United States of America
  2. Master’s or Doctorate level preparation, or be a student in a graduate program with a mental health focus
  3. Current member of ISPN
  4. A completed research application package (see instructions below)
  5. Ready to implement research project when funding is received
  6. The ability to attend and present research findings at a subsequent ISPN conference (either in person or virtually)

Research Application Package includes:

  3. Research proposal (see Proposal Guidelines)

Recipients are expected to:

  • Institutional Review Board or equivalent approval must be obtained or in revisions stages before the release of funds.
  • Project must be completed within one (1-2) year(s) of funding
  • Grant recipient agrees to provide a written summary (2-3 pages) of the completed research — due 90 days at the end of the one-year funding period
  • Grant recipient agrees to submit an abstract to the ISPN Conference for presentation at the 2028 ISPN Conference
  • Grant recipient agrees to acknowledge the support of ISPN in all presentations or publications
  • Grant recipient agrees to provide photo for promotional purposes

All application materials must be received by the deadline, to be considered. Only complete applications will be considered and incomplete materials will not be reviewed.
