Nurse Manager- Adult Inpatient Psychiatry

Cahill 4 is an adult Psychiatric locked unit. There are 18 beds available on this inpatient unit of which we see various types of psychiatric illnesses such as schizophrenia bi-polar and affective disorders, personality disorders, detox, adjustment disorder, psychosis, and use DBT/CBT group therapy. CHA is seeking a Nurse Manager who would be responsible for Cahill 4 at The Cambridge Hospital.

Cahill 4 is an 18 bed secure psychiatric unit which provides short-term psychiatric care for adults age 18 and older. Treatment focus is assessment, stabilization and aftercare planning for the patient. A multidisciplinary team approach is used in working with patients. It is located at the CHA Cambridge Hospital campus and serves people of all ages across the Greater Boston region. 24-hour accountability and responsibility for nursing care delivered to patients, as well as supervision of nursing staff.

Job Requirements:

  • Current Massachusetts RN licensure and Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • American Heart Association BLS required.
  • At least five years clinical experience in an Acute Psychiatric Nursing is required.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated leadership and management abilities.

Director of the Psych Mental-Health NP Program

The University of South Carolina, College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a qualified candidate eligible for the rank of Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor to fill a full-time program director for the PMHNP program and CON faculty position. In addition to teaching, this administrative position includes opportunities for clinical practice and research/scholarship activities are expected. Faculty appointment and salary are commensurate with the level of advanced practice clinical practice, teaching, leadership, and scholarship experience of the candidate. 

The candidate would provide classroom instruction, day-to-day program operations, and assisting students toward successful program completion in conjunction with the Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies. The Program Director will have opportunities to maintain a clinical practice and participate in research/scholarship activities. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and/or experience teaching psychiatric mental health NP curricula with the application of innovative classroom delivery, simulation methodologies and scholarship application. The candidate should have a demonstrated commitment to the professional development of nursing students, clinical practice, and leadership.

Earned doctorate in nursing (PhD or DNP), two years of teaching and mentoring of NP students; unencumbered nursing licensure; National Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Preferred) or National Certification as a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist (certifications should be across the lifespan) and two years of direct practice as an APRN with Prescriptive Authority or eligibility in SC. Excellent written and oral communication skills, team building, self-motivation, and innovation in educational program offerings are expected. Basic Life Support (BLS) documentation is required.
